Every day the future of Justin Mylo is getting more bright. Ever since the summer of 2015 his name shows up in line-ups of party’s like Multiply Ibiza and Don’t Let Daddy Know. Music has always been Justin Mylo’s biggest passion. He never doubted that music was the one thing that was going to bring him happiness in the future. Seven years ago he started to play at local clubs and later on he discovered that he also had a passion and even a talent for producing. Even though Justin Mylo is only 20 years old, his killer beats, resulted from his massive producing talent, are blown out of the speakers at venues all over the world.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Cheap Motel”?
Cheap Motel for me personally is a very special song, it has been quite a while since I released any music so I was super happy to finally put music out again. I wanted to put out a happy summer song which still has the energy that all my songs have.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
I think we’ve all been there haven’t we? Falling in love, that first date.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
We actually just did the lyric video which I think turned out pretty cool, so if you haven’t seen that yet go check it out on my YouTube channel.
How was the recording and writing process?
I had the instrumental version of the song for quite some time, but never really did anything with it. I got introduced to this super talented songwriting duo who introduced me to Babet who did the vocals and we wrote the lyrics with the 4 of us in just 1 or 2 days I believe. This was the first time for me actually being involved in writing and recording process and I must say I really loved the experience!
After the success from your previous single, were you any nervous while working on this newest song?
When I work on music I actually am never nervous its all about having fun and just doing what I love, but as soon as I finished it and knew I was actually gonna release it I felt a little bit nervous. Every song I make is very close to my heart so I’m always nervous about what the rest of the world is going to think of it.
Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else than when you are writing in your own?
Not really, its just a matter of exchanging ideas sounds samples and more or less the same as working on your own but now its just 2 people (or more) deciding about everything and coming up with ideas and just being creative.
Speaking of which, I know you and Martin Garrix have become very close since your last collaboration – any plans of teaming up in the near future again?
We’ve actually been super close way before even doing that collaboration, But we are definitely teaming up again in the future just don’t know exactly when.
Does your new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?
I’m not working on an album, really focusing on putting out singles now. I don’t really see myself doing an album in the foreseeable future.
Any plans to hit the road?
I’m almost constantly on the road these days, Playing Tomorrowland this weekend off to Vegas a couple times next month and just confirmed a show in the Dominican Republic while playing on Ibiza every week!
What else is happening next in Justin Mylo’s world?
A lot more music! I have tons of music ready to release so thats what is definitely on the schedule. And we’re always working hard on new shows its gonna be an even more busy year then its been so far!
